Begin:...
We finally hit the bastards where it hurt, after three
long years of losing ground we finally hit them hard enough to cause their
entire military rank structure to crumble and sent their R&D department
into frenzy. After Sky Angel's operation Kruzifix, which was the cause of
Berlin falling into their corporate hands we finally pulled our heads out of
our asses and took them seriously. Their use of Class V A.I's was a big
determining factor in how we handled these past two offencive's as well. I
guess the first step to taking back Berlin and hitting Sky Angel where it hurt
would of been Operation Orion.
That operation,
though in the long run will have bad effect" was still a success. Sky
Angel was foolish in securing Berlin, They were able to keep the city
surrounded, even had a dome put in place.. But the fools decided to leave the
bulk of their Heavy Troopers and Shock Troopers all of which were Armitage and
Harp class androids. The initial EMP attacks did little to our efforts, and by
the time the first wave of Kriegs passed through the dome it was too late to
launch another EMP attack--I'll give those bastards one thing, they're quick to
think that's for sure. The Harp units are initially what pinned us down, their
shock troopers are quick and accurate.. Luckily for us most of us kriegs were
augmented-- In a large group we can do anything an AI can do, Coordinate
instantly, see what the other is seeing, it hurts like a bitch when the
Implants shut off once you're out of combat, hell even kills a few people but
if that's what it takes.. (sighs into the voice recorder)
Anyway, four hours into the battle we still
hadn't made any ground, that's when we got the call to pull back. A lot of us
were angry and confused but did as we were told; they had us pause three miles
outside the city. ---What came next could only be described as beautiful agony.
The sky suddenly shattered, the clouds over the city suddenly parted, a loud
crack that could be heard from where we were sounded off, followed shortly by a
blast of pink light that shone down from the heavens, the light started in the
middle of the city then slowly engulfed the entire surrounding area, stopping
just a few thousand yards from us. I
couldn’t believe it, I’ve heard rumors of these weapons but never knew the Navy
and the Alliance would authorize it, The Fleet Admiral had the Alliance’s
command ship glass the entire fucking city from orbit. In mere seconds a city
that had thousands of years, worth of history just vanished into the pink
blindness, like a child blowing out a flame on a birthday cake-WISKED AWAY,
just like that—what followed after that was a silence so deafening that I had
to snap my fingers to make sure I hadn’t gone death. There was an Impact crater
at least 12 meters down by 4 meters in diameter.
We waited an hours
before approaching the crater—the soil cracked under the weight of our boots.
It had turned to glass from the heat of the beam; the sky was darker than usual
due to the smoke and fire still burning in some areas. All of us were at a loss for words so we just
kept with the job, the Marines left while we Kriegs stayed behind. “First one’s
in, Last one’s out.” Was a motto we operated by.
The next operation was only two
hours after Berlin, we were blitzing our way to the final target, a class V
android city and production’s plant—Neu Haven, the city was located in the
Palatinate Forest, in a valley near the Kalmit peak- Was hidden quite well for
a city that gave off an EM signature equal to London. We had received intel
from the now captured Doctor Frank Harken’s about the location, That bastard
was not only the CEO of Sky Angel but the sole creator of those abominations,
he actually purposely created self-aware A.I.’s THEN gave them a fucking city.
Our recon of the area confirmed what he had told us about the lay out. Two
thousand physical AI’s, mixture of Armitage unit’s and civilian models, there
was a sprawl that went for one meter, Charging unit’s placed inside of houses,
then in the middle.. Our main objective, In the middle of it all were three
large mainframes the size of skyscrapers.
The doctor had informed us that inside those mainframes were
up to three hundred thousand self-aware A.I.’s—the first Mainframe with male’s
the second with female’s the third with children and family’s—Family’s?! What a
fucking joke and what a sick fuck for creating children A.I.’s of all fucking
things, it made my stomach churn over.
At around 02:40 just
as the moon started to peak through the clouds is when I gave the order. The
Exo-Suite operator in our squad grabbed his rail gun then sent a round flying
towards the base of the mainframe with the so called “Family’s” direct hit, the
mainframe exploded in blue flames all the way up before imploding on its self,
that’s when from the other side of the valley another rail gun blast took out
the second mainframe and then the third. Then in a classic scene out of what
might as well of been ancient Nazi Germany we marched into Neu haven around all
sides blocking all exits, the physical units were the only ones left, the ones
that put up their hands we shot, the ones that ran we shot—Screams—An android
screaming out for mercy or in pain is an unnerving un-natural thing.. It just
makes you want to fucking shut it off and move on to the next, so that’s what
we all did.. All of us—The genocide took about an hour and a half, I caught one
trying to escape and removed it’s upper function’s before tossing it back in to
the pile, that’s the good thing about those Armitage unit’s. One plasma blade
to the brain and you can remove its upper functions without destroying it. We
then waited on the outskirts of town while the Command Ship moved into the
place; it had entered the atmosphere over the Atlantic and would take some time
to reach us. A few of the Androids tried to make a jump to a satellite, I was
able to rip two from mid-jump then threw it into a unit before I had it
downgraded to a class I or deleted. The one’s that did make it to the satellite
just found an even more sadistic program on the Satellite which just
assimilated them.
Dawn came—that’s when
the command ship was over the city, then repeating the exact same thing as it
did in Berlin, the sky blasted apart and the city was melted—The strange part
is, I think I heard more screaming for a few seconds after the blast, And that
was the end of that operation. A few days later Sky Angel surrendered—only to
be executed in public---Fuckers deserved it.
