Chun's Plan

Chun asked Salvor for time alone, and her other half did not need to ask why;
He left his mate to her thoughts, with a look and a caress which spoke volumes.
She used the techniques Vaarda had taught her against despair, and guilt, and
thoughts of suicide, until she was calm and centered, able to follow the thread
of intuition which hinted that there was, at last, a way out of her private hell.

She was sure the key was hidden among the many wonders of Utopia, her new home,
but which ones; The miraculous Bio-Tech of Wraithwire, the mysterious machinations
of Miach, or one of Utopia's many groundside trading partners, 

each with its own special Tech ?

She looked back on her past, on the terrible wrongs done to her and by her
which could not be made right, and accepting all that, saw the way forward
to redemption, to birth and rebirth, to a new life for her and from her.

She would make a Devil's Bargain, with two devils she knew to be somewhat honest,
and arrange matters so that it was in each one's self interest to keep their word
to her, and to see that the other one did the same.

She would gift Miach With the old forgotten Psych-Tech she inherited from Vaarda,
including the valuable ability to salvage a damaged soul by erasing memory and 

personality back to infancy, planting the remaining seed of a mind in an empty AI
core, and raising it to sentient adulthood. She would be their first test subject.

She would offer Wraithwire unique genetic material with which to create new 

experimental superhumans: Her own gene-engineered ova, preserved within her
shell by her creators as the ultimate hostage and bribe; They had promised
her children if she survived her service, and she intended to have them.
She knew that Salvor would contribute his own seed, the result of generations
of selective breeding intended to produce the best possible baseline human.

The contracts with Miach and Wraithwire would require each to monitor the other's
compliance with all terms, including preserving the free will of their subjects,
and granting them freedom when they reached maturity; Their rivalry, and their
need to preserve their reputations for honest dealings with their clients,
should keep her..second self..and her children safe...and so would Salvor.
She smiled fiercely at that thought; Gods help them if they angered him.

Chun stored her 'business proposal' in a crypto-comm chip that God herself
could not crack, and went to find the one person she trusted as negotiator
and foster parent, the Steel Angel Phoenix.
